The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme

This Scheme aims to provide internship opportunities to one crore youth in the top 500 companies in five years. Through this Scheme, youth will gain 12 months of exposure to real-life business environments across varied professions and employment opportunities.

Welcome to Government College

By the patronage of Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Dr. A.N. Khosla the Education Development Society, Koraput and Dayananda Anglo Vedic College Managing Committee, New Delhi established D.A.V. College at Koraput on the 10the of August, 1968. It had a modest beginning with only seven students on the roll.

Education is a liberating force.  Its transformative potential in a predominantly tribal area, for the people who have experienced social and cultural exclusion for centuries, has never been in doubt.

The Crest

Crafted by a student named P.Lingaraju in 1968, it has become an integral and inseparable crediential of the Institution. It is a circular emblem designed as a coat-or-arms. The upper portion contains the college Motto. The eternal principles of Satyam, Sivam and Vundaram ar written in the rays of the rising Sun with OM at the centre expressing our deep faith inIndian Culture and our commitment to Vedic ideas. The crest in the lower half contains an openbook inviting all to learn. The dictum on the open page are “Satyam Bada” and “Dharmam Chara”. The base contains the name of the institution. The crest has the philosophy and the guiding force of the institution.

Right To Information (RTI)

The Right To Information Act came into force on the 12th of October, 2005. Some provisions have come into force with immediate effect viz. obligations of public authorities, designation of Public Information Officers and Assistant Public Information Officers and constitution of Central Information Commission, constitution of State Information Commission, non-applicability of the Act to Intelligence and Security Organizations and power to make rules to carry out the provisions of the Act.

Procedure For Obtaining Information

In terms of sub-section (1) of Section 6, a person, who desires to obtain information admissible under the Act, should make a written request in Form- A to the Public Information Officer (PIO), Ravenshaw University accompanied by a Bank Draft/IPO of Rs.10/- (Rupees ten only) in favor of PIO, Public Information Officer (PIO), Ravenshaw University, Cuttack payable at Cuttack or enclose the copy of the receipt for Rs.10/- (Rupees Ten only), by depositing the same in Accounts Section of the Institute towards the application fee, specifying the particulars of the information sought by him or her.

Further, for providing the information under sub-section (1) of section 7, the fee shall be charged by way of cash against proper receipt or by demand draft or banker cheque payable to the PIO at the following rates: Rupees two for each page (in A-4 or A-3 size paper)created or copied. Actual charge or cost price of a copy in larger size paper. Actual cost or price for samples or models and For providing the information under sub-section (5)of Section 7, the fee shall be charged by way of cash against proper receipt or by demand draft or bankers cheque payable to the PIO at the following rates: a) for information provided in diskette or floppy rupees fifty per diskette or floppy and b) for information provided in printed form at the price fixed for such publication or rupees two per page of photocopy for extracts from the publication.

Examination Cell


The College Examination Cell conducts all the examinations of the college. The Examination Cell functions through the Examination Cell.

Anti Ragging Cell


Ragging “means” Causing, inducing, compelling or forcing or beating a student, whether by way of practical joke or otherwise, by our college .

Student Union


The Student’s Union will be called Student’s Union of Govt. College, Koraput. All the students of P.G. and Degree classes shall be held in college.
